Meet our team
James
Our Dispensing Optician
James joined our team in January 2024. He is friendly, charming and of his own admission, an absolute perfectionist. He has worked in the industry for almost 20 years and qualified as Dispensing Optician in 2015. When not at work James can apparently be found at the gym... or more likely in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
Keren
One of our skilled opticians
Keren is one of our exceptional Optometrists. She qualified with first class honours from Glasgow Caledonian University and recently achieved a British College of Optometrists professional certificate in Glaucoma treatment. She enjoys home baking and is so good we think we might lose her to the Great British Bake off! Her other genuine passion is in her involvement with her local church and the children’s groups she works with there.
Tom
One of our skilled opticians
Top of his bucket list is following the British & Lions on tour. He is a Leo and loves nothing more than watching his beloved Manchester United. Tom is also a committed family man who loves cooking for his family and getting away in their camper van.
Sandra
Optical Assistant
Sandra is one of our optical assistant and has been at Smiths over 4 years, previously having worked in the Banking Industry. "Working at Smiths you really feel part of the local Community and I enjoy working with the Team to provide a bespoke and professional service to all our Customers. In short I've always been a chatterbox and Smiths gives me the perfect platform to showcase this!!!!"
Anne-Marie
Optical Assistant
Anne Marie Horrocks is our longest serving member of staff. She has worked as an optical assistant for the past 27 years a role that she thoroughly enjoys. Her long tenure means that Anne Marie has developed a good relationship with our patients over the years. When not at work Anne Marie enjoys baking bread and cakes and going to the theatre. She is an active member of her local church and has served as a school governor for 12 years.
